This lesson teaches someone about what necessary skills are needed for reading and listening in teaching english as a foreign language. The 4 basic skills to any lessons consist of: reading, listening, speaking and writing, but they all are equal because you cannot have one without the other. When you are teaching people a different language you need to understand that it is about making sure they are learning and to want them to succeed which a good teacher will give them the necessary reading and listening skills that form the basis. Something I remembered when I was taking Spanish in elementary school is how the teacher tried to implement various techniques for reading and listening, but when I reached a more college level stage, I found that the teacher tried to make it more about getting the lesson done rather than taking the time to let us figure out the language. This lesson showed me that a good teacher knows what and when something in appropriate especially when you're reading and listening to a new language. This shows me that you need to get the students interested in learning the language by creating some interest that motivates them to learn.
