This unit focuses on the two video lessons provided. These videos demonstrate how to teach one lesson in completely different manners. The first video is a taping of a classroom lesson plan about modal auxiliary verbs. In the taping it is very obvious that the teacher is uninterested, unclear of directions, unenthusiastic, and rushing his students through the lesson. The students oftentimes look confused and rarely answer the questions he is asking them. This prompts the teacher to just give the students with the answers to his questions rather than push them to think effectively. The second video is also a taping of the same classroom lesson plan. The second video is different from the first because the teacher's teaching techniques have changed. In this video the teacher is smiling, engaged, not afraid to be funny, and determined to help students learn the lesson's complex concepts. This has a clear effect on the students. In this video students are visibly more engaged, more participatory, and are not afraid to answer the teachers questions. Overall, the two videos show just how important the success of a lesson plan is based upon the teachers attitude.
