Unit 19 talks about the kind of special groups you can encounter in your work as an TEFL Teacher. Before going into detailed information about each of these special groups, the unit talks first about the subdividing levels of the beginner's level, since this level is the start up level of language learning and therefor not every beginner will have the same acquired English language abilities. This first part also provides tips on techniques of teaching, dealing with any problems you might encounter and how to keep the motivation of your students up. Then the unit dives into the kinds of special groups you might encounter in your work; individual learners, young learners, business English or English for special purposes and mono- or multilingual classes. For each of these groups the unit specifies the particular aspects that come with teaching that kind of group and provides useful information on techniques, activities and evaluation for each one of them. It has given me a good insight in what will be needed to be able to offer a good qualitative course for each of the above mentioned groups. I feel more secure and capable of affronting new types of clients.
