There are 7 most common used future tenses: the future simple, the future continuous, the future perfect, the future perfect continuous, be going + infinitive, the present simple, the present continuous. Be going + infinitive and the present continuous are the most frequently used. The future simple is used for future facts, promises, predictions (based on no present evidence), assumptions, spontaneous decisions, and threats. The future continuous is used to say that something will be in progress at a particular moment in the future, to ?predict the present?, for polite enquiries, to refer to future plans which are fixed. The future perfect is used to say that something will have been done by a certain time in the future.
