This unit has reminded me of the different teaching materials that my elementary teachers have used when I myself was a student. In those years of exposure to these equipment and in my personal experience as a teacher, I agree with the descriptions of the materials mentioned in this unit. I learned that there are certain teaching equipment that are not suitable for some activities and an ample amount of preparation time is required in using them as well. Careful planning of the lesson is necessary as it gives the teacher an idea of how and when to use certain equipment during the lesson. As an EFL teacher, I realized that it is really important to keep up with the changing trends in technology. The casette recorder was mentioned in this unit and it might still prove useful to some areas where updated equipment are not readily available. But for countries such as the US, Japan, Philippines, etc., using the voice recorder in smartphones and other modern devices is already an alternative to it since it is compact and much easier to playback. Checking the internet for updated websites is also a must since websites tend to change or even more so, become obsolete.
