Communication of present or past experience is one of the basics of language use, including negative forms (what one isn't experiencing, or hasn't) and along with questions to elicit equivalent information from others ('Hasn't anyone reserved this seat?'). Speakers of other L1 may need careful illustration & practice as to how English expresses some quite everyday ideas otherwise than they do 'at home' (e.g. the common error of using the Present Continuous/Progressive as in 'I am playing the guitar since x years'). Since this module is all about verb structures, most of which are for labeling actions, there are abundant action-based activities that can help students 'learn by doing', which involves them directly in the learning experience and hence makes it more memorable than (for instance) a chalk-&-talk grind through lists of irregular past participles. And what could be more natural (for all but the shiest / most culturally repressed students) than discovering how to define their own experiences ~ what they like and don't, where they've been and what they've accomplished ~ and elicit comparison with others', using a medium they are already motivated to learn?
