I learned that a lesson plan for teaching is similar to having an outline for a speech. It helps you to structure your teaching and at the same time, you can refer back to it after an activity. Although a speech can be written down, a lesson plan cannot be scripted. The plan shouldn't be rigid, rather it should be flexible and can adapt to students needs. I also learned that a lesson plan should check for balance of skills. It is important to consider the flow of the lesson because it can affect students motivation and focus. Organization is also important because if you do not check the equipment that works, it can takes up teaching time.
