In this unit we?ve looked at the theory of teaching language comprehension skills. We?ve covered different types of reading and listening based on the purpose of these activities, what skills and mental faculties are needed to read and listen, as well as how to teach these skills better based on factors mentioned above. As any other lesson, activities centred on listening and reading need a fair amount of preparation and students need just the right amount of context, coaching and hand-holding. My only wish is that the supporting video for this unit followed the course outline and presented receptive skills before productive ones.
