The many tenses and tense forms in English make learning English difficult. Present tenses can be either present simple, present continuous, present perfect, or present perfect continuous, depending on their structure. Present simple sentences give facts about the present moment. Present continuous sentences speak about what is ongoing at the moment of speaking. Present perfect sentences talk about what has already transpired, and link that to the present. Present perfect continuous sentences speak about processes that began in the past, and continue on to the present. They each have several usages, and many pitfalls for the unfamiliar.
