Upon completing all the study sections of this ITTT course, it makes up my mind that there are three crucial components required to ensure the lesson carried out meet the desired outcomes. These components are lesson plan, discipline plan and classroom management. Lesson plan is to keep teachers on track while teaching, therefore allowing them to conduct the lesson in an organize manner. However, teachers must not only stick to the plan but to adapt their plans to cater for the students' needs. Another planning that teachers have to employ during teaching is discipline plan. Discipline and classroom management are both complementary to each other. A good discipline plan and effective classroom management are vital to keep the behavioral problems to a minimum, at the same time, creating a conducive environment in which positive teaching and effective learning can take place simultaneously. Teachers must always be aware that discipline plan is a designed tool of support and guide. Ideally, teachers have to provide a warning or two before formal punishment. Undoubtedly, there will be certain students who require more individualized approaches to improve their behavior. In this matter, making sure the intensity of the interventions matches the intensity of the presenting behavioral challenges is crucial. Extra care and concern are needed in dealing with those students. A good teacher is the one who praise the students consistently. Praise is to increase positive behaviors while simultaneously decreasing negative behaviors. When students exhibit positive and appropriate behavior, praise is an approval for them, for sure. Problematic students, sometimes, will start to improve their behavior when they want praises from teachers. This could be effective to reduce discipline problems.
