Productive skills are speaking and writing. We use productive skills to satisfy a need or because we desire something. A teacher must create a situation where students want to communicate so that a the activities may be successful. Speaking activities differentiate in controlled, guided and creative. Writing activities can be situational or creative.This unit helps me to understand the different teaching aids that can be used in the classroom and its advantages and disadvantages. The use of one or a combination of these aids can help make the class more interesting and engaging. The different links provided in the lesson will surely be very helpful to me during my future stint as an ESL teacher.
