This unit discussed placement tests (to determine students' initial level), diagnostic tests (similar to placement test but longer and helps teacher know what areas individual students need to learn), progress tests (to check progress and see what students' have retained) and practice tests to prepare for external examinations such as TOEFL and IELTS.Students need to learn the different forms of the past tense. A teacher can show the different \"formulas\" for each verb tense, along with when the tense is used. There are many suggested activities that will allow students to practice the different tenses. It is important for students to practice using the past tense in order to learn correct usage.
