On the first lesson, it is best not to resort to the course book in the classroom. Whether it is a new or existing group it is best to start off establishing rapport and figuring out the abilities of each student. When dealing with reluctant students, it is important for them to encourage participation and not to shy the students away from the lesson.Unit 17 focuses on the use of teaching equipment and teaching aids in the classroom. I appreciated the insight offered into ?older? methods of technology, such as video recorders and tape recorders. Working in a classroom with only a blackboard and projector, I hope to be able to incorporate the use of voice recorders into my lessons more often.
