I really like this lesson and learned a lot. I didn't realise before completing this lesson that there are five different types of skills that are used when reading and listening. I can see how it can be hard to read and listen if the correct techniques are not used as every student can interpret things differently and everyone needs to be catered for.The content of Unit Fourteen goes over what materials you can use for teaching ESL such as authentic materials, creative materials, and course books. The lesson goes over the advantages and the disadvantages of the three just mentioned. From this unit I learned how to teach phonetics to students and where to find good resources for classroom materials.
