While it's not essential to learn how to read phonetic script, it could be useful to know if you ever struggle with learning how to pronounce a word on your own especially if a teacher isn't around to tell you. Different languages also emphasize different parts of the sentence so it's good to always speak in English so they can pick up the differences.This unit was interesting and provided a lot of useful information for various teaching scenarios. Reading through this unit made me identify and evaluate my own methods and how they change depending on the age group I'm teaching. I would particularly like to encourage my students to communicate with me and with each other in English more than they do.
