This unit was helpful for me as it provides information on how we can or should use the different materials to make the best use of them while teaching to our students. It also emphases the importance of creating our own materials, more suitable to the class and the student's interests etc.This was another unit strictly on teaching style. It talks about how students learn and how you can incorporate that into your lesson plans. It focuses on receptive skills or reading and listening. You need to focus on both equally. Both are vital skills for communicating in a new language.Having lived in a foreign country for the past 7 years and learned their language fluently, I have gained a pretty good understanding of why they make so many common errors in their speech. Most of the errors are based on the content in this unit and in the upcoming units focused on tenses.
