This unit focused primarily on different scenarios that might present difficulties for teachers in a classroom and how to address and overcome those difficulties. There were suggestions for how to start a new course and what to do if you have mixed ability levels within a course. Starting a new course with \"ice breaker\" activities seems to be a pretty common sense approach, as does allowing students with stronger English skills to assist those who are struggling. There were also more useful suggestions on how to encourage reluctant students to participate in class. Overall the lesson seemed to be a catch all lesson reviewing a few things from previous lessons and covering a few topics not addressed in previous lessons. I think that this lesson, the video lesson and the lesson on lesson planning should all come at the end of the course since they effectively \"wrap up\" the course. Perhaps that is the case with the 60 hour course. Overall the units throughout this course have been informative and I feel have addressed some of the questions I've had regarding TESOL, but not all. I guess that when I get my first TESOL job, I'll learn or find out answers to these questions.
