There are a number of ways to assess a students language level; tutorials, evaluation by the students and tests. Tutorials might be useful to spend some time even if it is just 10 minutes, teacher can review what has been taught. Evaluation by students can be done by asking students to evaluate their course by giving out a questionnaire or a guided discussion. There are serval different tests that you may give your students to evaluate how they are doing through the course whether it is a short test or a long one. Placement tests are designed to enable a teacher to place new students into a correct class according to their language ability. Progress tests should be used often as these tests are useful to let teachers and students to know what language items need more work. Diagnostic tests are similar in contact to placement tests but sometimes more extensive. Practice tests are said to follow the format and structure of the external examination.
