Teach English in Jiefang Jiedao - Liuzhou Shi
The two videos provided have numerous of significant differences. The professor's attitude towards his students was the greatest factor in affecting and setting the mood, atmosphere, and attitude of the class. The moment the professor displayed hurriedness, frustration, repetitiveness, the students became intimated, bored, and tiresome. On the second video, however, the professor was bright, happy, engaging, and fun with his use of attitude and voice which brought out smiles and curiosity from the class. This set the lesson throughout in fun, comfort, and eagerness to learn. The professor in the first video had a lot of assumptions and expectations from the students, sits down the majority of the time, little to no engagement whatsoever, and puts awkwardness and intimidation to the students. Also, note that he crumpled up the piece of worksheet after review as if he was tired of the class. The second video showed the professor using his body and actions to display imagination to the students concerning animals and helping them understand the auxiliary verbs. He was very active, mostly standing up, using names to call out students in an unpredictable manner which kept the students engaged.
