Lesson planning is an effective way to have an organized teaching flow, a useful tool to improve how to teach a particular lesson by keeping a record of the activities? strengths and weaknesses, and a good monitor for self-evaluation by recording what happened during a class and analyzing where we can improve as a teacher. A lesson plan should be simple and flexible. As for the contents of a lesson plan, it is always good to start with the objectives for both the learner and the teacher. The activities for Engage, Study, and Activate phases should all be based on the language point to be taught. A good lesson plan should include the duration of each activity so that contents can be easily added or reduced based on the total class duration. Materials needed to teach a class is also a good content of a lesson plan as it can be used as a reference during preparations and good check sheet before the class starts. Anticipated problems should be listed and countermeasures should be ready when the problems arise. After each class, reviewing the lesson plan based on what actually happened during a class is an effective way to improve the next lesson plan and the same lesson for future classes.
