Unit 1 showed the basic qualities of what makes a \"good\" teacher and whats makes a \"good\" learner. There are many different styles a teacher may use in the classroom, but creating an environment in which the learners can stay motivated and feel safe in making errors is crucial. I believe organization is a very important quality in a teacher because how he/she sets up the classroom and the lesson affects the dynamic of how the learners learn. Depending on the types of learners (adults or young learners) and their levels (beginner, elementary, etc.) the teacher needs to be able to construct a lesson plan to meet the needs of the learners. As for the learners, motivation for learning is very important and it is crucial for the teacher create and maintain an environment for positive growth in learning. The last part of Unit 1 discussed the various levels of learning a language. Obviously it is important for a teacher to recognize the levels within the classroom. Giving material that is too advanced or too elementary will not motivate the learners.
