This unit expanded on the variety of methods a teacher can use when teaching English, as one technique may not apply effectively to every lesson we want to communicate. Consequentially, there are endless ways to engage students and engrain lessons in order to help them progress through the English language. This unit covered specific methodologies such as grammar-translation, audio-lingualism, presentation-practice-production, task-based learning, the lexical approach, the silent way, suggestopaedia, community language learning, and community language teaching. I also learned when it would be appropriate to apply each one. We studied the many options that come with \"Engage, Study, Activate\" techniques (straight arrow, boomerang and patchwork), and the unit included many helpful examples of each stage that would help apply these concepts with students. At the end of the unit, there was a discussion of the difference between error and mistake, different forms of correction, when to do it, who to do it, and what would qualify as needing correcting.
