From this unit i have learnt the characteristics that make up a good teach as well as the characteristics that make up a good learner. As a teach you must be enthusiastic towards teaching a class and be able to build up a good rapport with all students equally. I have learnt the different roles that are available to the teacher to take on during a lesson and at what times would be most suitable for a particular role to be taken on. For example: Taking on the role of an organizer when giving instructions, organizing the class into groups or pairs, initiating activities and organizing feedback. I have learnt the difference between young learners and adult learners, including the three categories of young learners as well as the motivations behind each group. I have learnt the six language levels as well as the European framework which these broadly relate to. In conclusion throughout this unit i have learnt about the fundamentals behind what it takes to be a teacher and that teaching must be an equal and engaging learning experience for all learners.
