The first unit of the course introduced a general idea of what is the expectation of the qualities, roles and responsibilities of both good teachers and good students in order to achieve the best result in the learning process. Teachers play different roles such as Manager/controller, Organizer, Assessor, Prompter, Participant, Tutor, recourse or facilitator, model, and observer/monitor. Being a teacher needs to balance out these roles accordingly to keep students interested and concentrated during class time. Different teaching strategies need to be utilized when facing different age of students due to differences in mindset, acceptance to new information, and willingness to learn.
