In this unit, we reviewed teaching and learning. There are several development theories to keep in mind and that are related to how we teach young learners. As young learners, we acquire our L1, and so we as teachers can do our best to mimic our teaching style to have the L2 learning process be similar to the acquisition of L1. There are different approaches to doing this, especially with the two age groups of young learners: 5-9 and 9-13. Each display different skills as they are maturing at this stage, they have different likes and dislikes which will affect their learning in the classroom. Finally, the classroom arrangement will play a role in how the students interact and learn.
