This lesson gave me a better understanding of Tests and how they are used. I now know that there are a variety of tests that have different uses and should be used at different stages of a course. Not all tests are used to gauge progress but some tests like Placement tests and diagnostic tests are used in the beginning of an course to understand the abilities of the students and how to prepare materials to better suit the students. Then we have the progress tents to establish what the students have learned or forgotten. The other types of tests we have are the practice tests that can be used to prepare the students for external examinations and to help them to boost their confidence.
