This unit explains productive skills that consist of speaking and writing. Accuracy activities help to produce correct language. Fluecy activities allow students to experiment and be creative with language. Accuracy activities can consist of drilling, prompting, model dialogues and guided role-play. Fluency activities can consist of free role-play, discussions and debates, simulations etc. Many students may be reluctant to speak due to lack of confidence, fear of making mistakes, peer intimidation etc. Pair-work,group-work and careful planning can encourage students to speak. Writing is the more difficult skill. It's important to pay attention to handwriting, layout and punctuation.
