In the Case Studies portion of this unit, it was interesting to understand what the process should be when doing an activity in class. It was particularly helpful for me to see that the students should be grouped appropriately and given roles before explaining the procedure of the activity. In the past, I have always explained these sort of activities before grouping the students. I now realize this is a mistake. I will try grouping before explaining so that the students are not overwhelmed with information. Instead, they can focus on the instructions that particularly pertain to their roles. This way, they will have a better understanding of their task and role in the activity.
