Unit 18 has, in my opinion, some of the most complex grammar points for EFL students. Modal verbs might be difficult to grasp; passive voice as well, due to its degree of academic nature. But phrasal verbs are the most difficult verb forms a student can find. Not only is it because of their uniqueness in English, but also because some other languages don't have this type of verb constructions. Moreover, since phrasal verbs are sometimes thought to be informal in nature, most EFL students learn the academic version of the same meaning, i.e. \"recover\" instead of \"get over\". Certainly, I need to expand a lot more on this topic and continuously find ways to improve the teaching of it.
