Unit 2 lists and explains nine parts of speech in our study of English language including the noun, the verb, the adjective, the adverb, the article, the gerund, the pronoun, the preposition and the conjuntion, which is quite helpful in our recognition and classification of each sentence. It is quite challenging when we try to explain in class because the rules can change with time and there are always exceptions. And it is absolutly not right if the teacher just simply gives the definitions and rules of parts of speech without checking and proving by several examples. Language becomes necessary and important only when we put it in our life instead of dissecting over and over in class.
