Teach English in DongxiAng Zhen - Laibin Shi
This unit covered the seven future tenses. This unit was much more challenging, as it contained two present tenses used in a future context, as well as many of the tenses having similarities to other tense structures. I often found myself having to read things several times just to make sure I understood the tense. It made me appreciate how difficult it is for learners of English, given the subtleties in meaning inherent in our grammar structures. I think that the future tenses should be fun to teach, as the students can come up with hypothetical situations that may arise, and these could be more interesting for students than teaching the present and past tenses. It also gives more opportunity for creative thinking, especially things like what things will look like in the future, or what the students may see themselves doing. As with anything, there are often exceptions, for example, spontaneous decisions can sometimes use the Going to future, e.g.. \"Ok, that's it, I'm gonna do it!\". There were some instances where I ran into a structure that didn't fit into the tense systems studied. I looked on forums and concluded that it could be passive voice. I sent an email to a tutor so I will await their response.
