Unit 10 shows two videos of a teaching demonstration. This unit provides one ineffective and one effective teaching demonstration. The two videos show how a teacher's attitude contributes to the effectivity of a lesson and the students' level of participation. As an observer, I felt that I was also one of the students. The first video shows a boring class with a teacher whose personality did not elicit a good student and teacher interaction. I observed that the teacher seemed uninterested and not enthusiastic. Also, he lacks preparation and keeps on looking at his lesson plan. Moreover, he did not smile throughout the lesson, did not elicit students' responses effectively, and did not explain the lesson well. He speaks very fast that the students were confused and did not understand him well. On the other hand, the second video shows a more effective teaching than the first one. The teacher was very smiling and friendly when he started the class. He was also able to build a good student and teacher relationship. His activities were fun. He has a good sense of humor which made the students feel at ease and with confidence in participating. The students were able to elicit answers and they were enjoying the class.
