This lesson covered the phoenetic aspect of teaching English. Teachers often find explaining correct pronunciation as one of the most challenging aspects of teaching English, but using tools such as the phoenetic alphabet, teachers can effectively communicate how the sounds are made. It was also suggested that use of mouth diagrams and pronouncing extra clear and slow can help students better understand. Though it is hard to achieve a perfect level of pronunciation with students, it is important to focus on it as issues come up because it can mean the difference between a student being understood and not understood with native English speakers.
