Unit 11 is a very complete account of receptive skills, reading and listening, and how to teach them. It also deals with difficulties in teaching receptive skills as well as solutions to face these problems. It also provides with an activity and a lesson plan sample to further understand the application of the contents of the unit. The most captivating information for me, was the one related to the specialist skills because they help structure the lesson itself. I clearly understand now the core concepts in teaching reading or listening. I had my doubts before about scanning and skimming and I clearly see the difference after studying the unit.
