Unit 18 covers several components of English grammar including modal verbs, phrasal verbs, passive voice, and relative clauses. Basic rules for the use of modal auxiliary verbs are given including how to use them in the present/future and past tenses. Phrasal verbs are broken down into 3 types with brief explanations given. The difference between passive and active voice is explained and three categories of relative clauses are discussed. The 3 types of phrasal verbs is new information to me. I learned that phrasal verbs are best learned as vocabulary items and should be incorporated into conversation with students so they become more familiar.
