In this unit I learned an overview of what makes a good student and what makes a good teacher. I learned how to quantify the levels of student's knowledge (Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, etc). This will help me identify what a student should focus on. This unit states that a good teacher should have different teaching styles. For example, a student will learn more from a class that has activities with their classmates along with the teacher speaking rather than the teacher speaking 100% of the class time. Encouraging students to actually speak the language and ask questions is vital to maintain student motivation in learning a new language.
