In this unit two videos are used to illustrate the differences between an effectively taught grammar lesson in an English language classroom and an ineffective lesson. From the two contrasting videos, the obvious differences between teacher's attitude to students, students' attitude toward the teacher, student participation, teacher's voice, instructions, explanations, manner and teaching styles and the lesson structure and context were evident. During the effectively taught lesson the teacher cared about the learning of the students while inspiring confidence in them and the students responded positively. This did not happen in the first video.
