My goodness, I really battled to grasp this. The different methodologies confused me somewhat. I am not certain I know how to construct a lesson now. I do think I need to read this chapter again. The different ESA lesson structures confused me the most. Remembering the format for each ESA lesson structure.This unit teaches that productive skills are equally as important as receptive skills. Speaking and writing can be different in many ways but both are to produce language to communicate. As for writing skills, one has to take care of layout, puntuation, handwriting to avoid misunderstanding of the context.
