This unit covered the future tense and the forms that the future tense takes in the English language. Similarly to present and past tense the future tenses consist of future simple, future continuous, future perfect and future perfect continuous. However with the future tense there is the addition of the future going to tense, present continuous and present simple, which is when the present tense is used but the actions have future ramifications. I learnt in this unit the different usages of the tenses, such as with the future simple tense is it used for promises, predictions with present evidence, spontaneous decisions and other things. It generally uses the word \"will\" to signify this. I also learnt in this unit the difference between the use of shall and will, which I did not fully understand before and this unit discussed how shall implies more of a suggestion or inviting, whilst will is used when there is a stronger intention or determination in the sentence. This unit also discussed teaching ideas for each of the tenses which is very helpful. For example for teaching the future perfect continuous tense, as well as the future perfect tense the activity of constructing a diary is suggested where students will fill in either what they will have done by a certain point in the following week or what they will be doing. I also really liked the game of trying to get out of the \"date from hell\" where students must use the future perfect continuous tense to tell the other student their excuses. The unit also outlined errors students commonly make, and so this is helpful in knowing what to watch out for when teaching these sections. Such as for the future continuous tense it was shown that students sometimes tend to forget parts of the structure such as adding on \"ing\" to the verb, or forget part of the verb \"be\". This unit, while making the future tense clearer to me also helped me understand the present and past tenses better as I can see how they all relate.
