In this Unit, there are two videos which show us different types of classes teaching twice. One shows us a situation that the teacher in Tai is teaching effectively, while the other shows us a situation that the teacher is making mistakes deliberately about lots of basic errors and poor organized. The first video leads well-organized, objective-driven lessons authentically explaining what they are learning especially engaging effectively students in connecting to their prior knowledge. In detail, the teacher says what students will learn first off mentioning the objective, students will add decimals up to two place values in order to create a project. After mentioning the objective to get them involved she asks today?s objective again. And then she refers why the objective is important. The objective is specific, measurable, and aligned to standards and clear to students. Through the activity that let students calculate with panel that the teacher has already made written about food list and price, students try to calculate by themselves what they want to buy from the list and how much it is in total in groups. With this activity, all students are involved and get to be interested choosing foods what they want to buy and calculate on their own. After watching this video, I got to know that well-organized lesson is important to teach students. Especially to let them know what we are going to learn and our objective making students review prior lessons at the same time as well. If we know where the top is when we are climbing the mountain, then we can get there easily with a strong will. Finding an interesting, appropriate activity and making them all involved is also important. So I have realized that I should find an interesting activity related to the lesson considering about their age and their interests. In that video, the teacher made them choose what they want to buy in the food list. And they looked so excited because they like food and going shopping. With this activity they could get to learn naturally how to add decimals up to two place values.
