This unit is about the different ways of evaluating students' level and progress, as well as some of the common external exams. There are 3 ways to assess students level. These are tutorials, evaluation by the students and tests. The types of tests that can be given to the students are placement test, progress test, diagnostic test, practice test, external examinations and Cambridge assesment. Teachers need to evaluate their students' English to determine whether the students are making any progress in thier learning. Teachers also needs to evaluate students at the beginning of the course to be able to identify their needs or problem areas.
