Teach English in Xinglonggang Zhen - Jiamusi Shi
Unit 18 was titled Modals, Phrasal Verbs, and Passive Voice. The modal verbs are can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must, have to, have got to, need to, needn't, and ought. They can be used to express obligation, possibility, permission, ability, and advice. In English there is the active and passive voice. With the passive voice the object of the active verb becomes the subject. There are three clauses. The independent, dependent, and relative clauses. A relative clause is a dependent clause that modifies a noun and was mainly discussed in this unit. Finally, phrasal verbs are verbs with one or two particles attached to it.
