This unit discusses the materials a TESL teacher will typically require for his/her classroom in order to teach. This ranges from course books, technology i.e. audio cassettes, DVD and so forth, to magazine and newspaper cuttings. It demonstrates the difference between authentic materials (Those not designed for the teaching of English) and created materials (Those designed for the teaching of English). The unit also demonstrates the advantages and disadvantages of using these differing forms of materials. I enjoyed this unit since it covers a topic I had not considered before, namely the correct use of classroom materials to aid my teaching.
