The future tense is broken into eight different tense forms. Some fall under the future tense category i.e ; future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous and others fall under the present tense category i.e; the present simple, be going, present continuous. All these different future tense forms point to the future but the difference between them is how they will affect the future. Future tense is used everyday for predictions, threats, promises, intentions, reports etc. Some forms are used more often in day today communications than others but it is important to understand where to use each of them distinctly.
