These two lesson examples indicate how important teacher attitude and lesson planning is to the success of a lesson. In the first lesson, the teacher discourages student participation by constantly claiming how easy the material is. Students are hesitant to talk out of fear of being incorrect. The first lesson also does not effectively use the engage study activate model. The teacher introduces modal auxiliary verbs without every building the student's schema towards the topic. The second lesson shows a teacher that is encouraging, warm and in touch with students. As a result, the students are much more participatory and engaged in learning.
