The Present Tense System is the topic discussed in Unit 2. In the Unit, it explains that, unlike linguists claim, there are actually twelve different Present Tenses. However, the ITT Training guide explains only three so as to offer a more practical approach to the English Language structure; past, present, and future. Unit 2 breaks down the various types of Present Tenses into the following: Present Simple, Present Simple Continuous, Present Perfect, and Present Perfect Continuous. As each of the Present Tenses are equally important, it is necessary for the English Teacher to understand each of them and to have the ability to teach them all.
