This unit was rich in many practical teaching skills. I learned the most about the pros and cons of the different types of class groupings. There is a time when all types of groupings will be an advantage over other types depending on the the objectives of the lesson as well as on the class and individual dynamics. As a teacher it is also important to consider the arrangement of the classroom. For example, I think a horseshoe arrangement would be great at the beginning of the course to develop a sense of unity within the class and to promote pair work among students that may not know each other yet. Later other arrangements would be a benefit.
