Teach English in Qiuchang Jiedao - Huizhou Shi
First unit introduces relationship between teacher and students. In the Unit 1 are described characteristics of the good teacher and good learner. Good teacher will use teaching roles when necessary, act as a model to his students, organizing materials, information, manage his classroom, divide students into groups or pairs in order to motivate them equally. Good teacher will encourage its students and help them accept error correctness, will act individually when needed, help them ask questions and use language freely. Roles of the teacher also depend on the age of the students, Which are divided into two groups: Adults and Young learners ( which are also divided into three groups, post-puberty, pre-puberty and very young learners). Adult students will have previous knowledge and previous learning experience and they will have clear view what they expect from teaching process. They also start learning foreign knowledge on their own initiative which means they will be highly motivated for learning. Young learners may also bring some previous knowledge, but most likely they will be more open-minded for new teaching methods and new learning process. On the other hand they will not join the teaching process on their own initiative, which might cause with the lack of motivation. Then good teacher will use his methods to motivate his students into active learning process. Another very important thing for the teaching process are language levels: 1. Beginners- are students with zero knowledge of English language which cannot be easily activated 2. Elementary- students are able to form basic sentence structures and communicate on simple topics 3. Low pre-intermediate- students are able to communicate and understand various topics but with lacking of fluency 4. Intermediate- Students are able to understand and communicate on a wide range of topics using limited vocabulary and they are still lucking in accuracy and fluency 5.Upper intermediate- students are able to communicate on almost all topics but still lacking in accuracy. 6. Advanced- students have good knowledge of language and are able to study more subtle items
