In this unit we can see the identification of the seven most common forms of the future tense with notes on the ?be going to + infinitive? and ?the present contionuous? forms that are frequently used. Here the unit points that the present simple and the present continuous used as present tenses, also have future applications, for example; I am taking a break next week. The unit treats and elaborates on the forms taken by these tenses with their usages and some sample teaching ideas for the activate stage of a lesson; future simple is formed with; subject plus shall/will plus verb in base form future continuous is formed with ; subject plus will plus be plus verb in ?ing? ( present participle), I will be goint to Madrid tomorrow. future perfect is basically a past in the future and sentences usually use an adverbial phrase to indicate when a future event will be completed, formed with ; will plus have plus past participle ( I will have danced for one hour) future perfect continuous usually needs an adverbial phrase to signal the time a future event will have benn going on, is formed with ; will plus have plus been plus verb in ?ing? ( by this time next week I will have been learning Spanish for 45 hours. Be going to plus infinitive formed with ; verb ?to be ? in present plus going to plus verb in base form.Note on this tense is the confusion between similarity in structure to present continuous especially when present continuous uses the verb ?to go? but indicates the ?be going to? structure is always followed by a verb. From this unit I have learnt the distinction between ?shall? and ?will? in their usages, while ?will? generally expresses a stronger intention, determination or coercion, shall is generally used in making suggestions or invitations.I also learnt the future perfect expresse a past in the future more like the past perfect which a past in the past as explained in unit 6. Ihave also noted that in teaching the future perfect and future perfect continuous a general rule could be applied; using an adverbial to signal when events will occur.
