I can see how confusing this can become for learners and beginner teachers. I wish there was an option to enter phonetic letters to translate to english. Don't know if teaching the phonetic alphabet to learners will help unless they are taking an English class only to practice their speaking ability. I had a hard time with the phonetic alphabet myself.This unit was very helpful when thinking about and planning future activities for my students regarding vocabulary, structures and functions. I found the boomerang, patchwork and straight arrow lesson formats a good way to think about how to structure my lessons so that my they are more purposeful and students will be able to gain a deeper understanding.
